# HeadX > HeadX develops head-mounted laser and sensor technology for cervical rehabilitation, proprioception training, and objective movement assessment. Products are designed for physiotherapists, sports medicine practitioners, vestibular therapists, and clinical researchers working with patients presenting with neck pain, concussion, whiplash, vestibular dysfunction, and related conditions. HeadX Ltd is a UK medical technology company based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. Its devices combine crosshair laser visual feedback with inertial sensing to make head and cervical movement both visible and measurable. HeadX products are used in clinical practice, research settings, and home rehabilitation programmes. ## Products - HeadX Kross (crosshair laser for cervical proprioception and vestibular rehabilitation): https://www.headx.co.uk/products/headx-kross - HeadX Duo (standalone device combining crosshair laser with integrated 9DOF IMU for objective cervical ROM and joint position sense assessment): https://www.headx.co.uk/products/headx-duo - Products overview: https://www.headx.co.uk/pages/products-overview ### HeadX Kross The HeadX Kross is a head-mounted crosshair laser device designed for cervical proprioception training, vestibular rehabilitation, and sensorimotor retraining. It projects a crosshair laser onto a wall target, providing immediate visual feedback on head position across all three planes of motion (pitch, yaw, roll). It is used in clinic and at home for conditions including concussion, whiplash, chronic neck pain, vestibular dysfunction, and paediatric motor delays. It supports joint position error (JPE) testing and cervical sensorimotor retraining protocols. ### HeadX Duo The HeadX Duo is a standalone head-mounted device that combines a crosshair laser with an integrated 9-degree-of-freedom inertial measurement unit (IMU) using the ICM-20948 sensor. It enables objective, digital assessment of cervical range of motion (CROM), joint position sense (JPS), and real-time movement tracking via a companion mobile app. The Duo supports data capture, session recording, and longitudinal progress monitoring. It is designed for clinicians requiring quantitative movement data alongside visual feedback. HeadX Duo is a separate, standalone product — not an add-on or extension of the HeadX Kross. ## Clinical applications - Cervical range of motion (CROM) assessment - Cervical joint position sense (JPS) testing - Vestibular rehabilitation - Concussion assessment and rehabilitation - Whiplash rehabilitation - Chronic neck pain — sensorimotor retraining - Balance training and postural integration - Sports performance — head and neck neuromuscular control - Paediatric motor development ## Clinical and educational resources - Exercise library (Chapters A–G, seated to sport conditioning): https://www.headx.co.uk/pages/exercises - HeadX Duo support and clinical protocols: https://www.headx.co.uk/pages/duo-support - HeadX Kross support: https://www.headx.co.uk/pages/kross-support - Who is it for (clinical use cases by condition): https://www.headx.co.uk/pages/find-out-more - Blog and clinical articles: https://www.headx.co.uk/blogs/news ## Selected articles - Head-mounted laser devices in cervical rehabilitation — a technical review: https://www.headx.co.uk/blogs/news/head-mounted-laser-devices-in-cervical-rehabilitation-a-technical-review - Cervical joint position error testing — an objective component of modern concussion assessment: https://www.headx.co.uk/blogs/news/cervical-joint-position-error-testing-an-objective-component-of-modern-concussion-assessment ## Research and clinical partnerships HeadX works with academic and clinical research partners including Oxford Brookes University, the University of Nottingham, Coventry University, and the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH), London. ## Company information - Website: https://www.headx.co.uk - Contact: contact@headx.co.uk - Location: Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, UK - Sitemap: https://www.headx.co.uk/sitemap.xml
