Fitting & Operating the device

Fitting the Device

The Kross uses two elastic straps — one running over the top of the head and one around the head — adjusted using tri-glide clips at the sides.

  1. Loosen both straps fully by sliding the tri-glide clips to give maximum length.
  2. Place the Kross on the patient's head with the laser head unit at the front, positioned roughly level with the mid-forehead. The rear battery and control module sits at the back of the head.
  3. Adjust the overhead strap and the around-head strap by sliding the tri-glide clips until the unit sits securely. The fit should be snug but comfortable — no pressure points, no slipping.
  4. Centre the unit left-to-right and confirm that hair is not caught under the straps.
  5. Activate the laser and check that the crosshair projects cleanly onto the target surface. If the beam appears angled, use the angle adjustment on the laser head unit to correct the inclination. If the beam appears displaced sideways, reposition the unit and recheck.

Important: Ensure the device is fitted securely so that it cannot fall off during head movement.

Powering On and Laser Modes

The Kross has a single green function button on the front of the device. Pressing it cycles through the following states:

  1. Off
  2. 100% brightness (full laser output)
  3. 50% brightness (reduced laser output)
  4. Flash mode
  5. Off

For clinical use, 100% brightness is recommended for maximum crosshair visibility. 50% brightness may be used in lower ambient light conditions. Flash mode is not recommended for active clinical sessions.

Charging

The charging port is located on the rear battery and control module, behind a protective cover.

  1. Remove the cover on the rear module to expose the charging port.
  2. Connect the supplied USB cable to a standard USB charger. Do not use fast chargers — these will damage the device.
  3. The indicator light on the rear module will show red while charging.
  4. The indicator light will change to green when fully charged.
  5. Replace the cover when charging is complete.

A full charge takes approximately 3 hours and provides up to 36 hours of continuous use. Charge the device fully before first use and after any extended period of storage.
